3. 강의목표

The core values of sport leadership consist of empowerment, global mindset, accountability, collaborative relationships, and authenticity. Specifically, sports leadership devotes to increasing and enhancing the abilities of others, focuses on and actively participates in the ever-changing global sport landscape. The leaders dedicate to making responsible decisions and endorsing thoughtful actions executed with the highest level of integrity. The sports leadership engages in team-oriented actions that emphasize the essential nature of building relationships, and commits to remaining genuine and true to themselves and those they serve, yet inspires to foster enthusiastic creativity and originality.
In this perspective, the purpose of the course is to generate new knowledge of creative and convergence leadership & entrepreneurship. It inspires students by big names in sports such as Sir Alex Ferguson (the coach of Manchester United for 27 years, the best leader in the world as known) and therefore, helps them strive to search for a true leadership & innovative entrepreneurship to take responsibility as future leaders and develop their own future growth plan.
As fostering values of leadership & entrepreneurship, ‘Leadership: A Coach, What is a Leadership?’ will lead students:
1) To explore the core values of leadership that are exhibited by global sport leaders
2) To gain deeper insights on a true leadership through multidisciplinary theoretical perspectives by reviewing well-known global leaders as well as the big names in sports.
3) To develop their own definition of “good to great” leadership: ‘What is your leadership?’

9. 수업운영

 Each week, students will watch/read a flipped learning material(s) online and individually submit one page paper regarding the topic of the week.
 Professor will give a lecture regarding the topic of the week and discuss research questions with students during the class.
 Students will individually present on the weekly topic they choose and discuss research questions with other students in class.

Sport has become a world language, a common denominator that breaks down all the walls, all the barriers. The core values of sport are fairness, justice, integrity, and respect for rights. Those values inspire us and let us have meaningful questions to our lives. In sports, leadership is the most important inspiration and motivation for all stakeholders (players, fans, training teams, etc.). We have witnessed how excellent leadership influence humanity. This course is to explore the creative and convergence leadership by studying the world sport leaders such as Sir Alex Ferguson (the former coach of Manchester United, the best leader in the world as known), Guus Hiddink (the former coach of Korean national soccer team), and so on. Leaders are not born but made. From the sports leadership, we can reconsider what would be the true leadership for humanity.
