3. 강의목표

This course provides basic mathematical methods for undergraduates majoring in chemistry and related fields. Methods include probability and statistics, linear algebra, vectors and matrices, first and second order differential equations and their solutions. By the end of the course, students should have sufficient mathematical skills required to explore analytical chemistry and chemical data analysis, quantum mechanics, spectroscopy, chemical kinetics, and statistical thermodynamics.

1. Students who desire to be well prepared for Chem211 and Chem311 are strongly encouraged to take this class.
2. Students who have solid mathematical backgrounds already should not take this class. (E.g. People who have successfully completed PHYS209 and PHYS408).
