3. 강의목표
It is an elective course for the Electrical Engineering (EECE) major and for the Next Generation Communications and Network (NGCN) minor.
This course is to provide senior-year EE major or NGCN minor undergraduate students an overview of Digital Signal Processing.
In particular, it covers the concepts of discrete-time signal, discrete-time linear filter, convolution sum, sampling, up and down sampling, decimation and interpolation, discrete-time Fourier transform, z-transform, discrete-Fourier transform; speech, audio and acoustic signal processing, image processing, etc.

EECE233 Signals and Systems
MATLAB or Python programming skill
HW은 theoretical problems 외에 Programming 문제가 출제됩니다.
Programming 문제의 경우, MATLAB 또는 Python 등 어떤 프로그래밍 언어 및 앱을 사용하여 프로그래밍해도 좋으나, 적어도 결과는 MATLAB figure 와 유사한 결과를 내는 package (예를 들어 python의 matplot)를 써서 출력하여 제출하여야 합니다.
5. 성적평가
1. Quarter-Term Quiz 1 (14:00-14:30, Thursday, March 13th, LG 102) 10 %
2. Mid-term exam (19:00-23:00, Wednesday, April 2nd, LG 102) 20 %
3. Three Quarter-term Quiz 2 (14:00-14:30, Thursday, May 1st, LG 102) 10 %
4. Final Exam (19:00-23:00, Wednesday, June 4th, LG 102) 30 %
5. Homework (including programming HW) 30 %
6. Attendance: on/off
* No S/U for undergraduate students. A final grade lower than B0 will be converted to U for S/U graduate students.
* Weights will be multiplied to the z-scores of the requirements, unless the variance is too small.
* Extra-credit voluntary project:
- Submit a ppt/pdf file.
- Submit a 15-20 min. recorded presentation file
- Topics for your project must be approved before the final exam.
- If the extra-credit project is satisfactory, then the final grade will be one-step (+,0,-) increased without penalizing other students who have chosen not the submit reports.
S/U로 수강 신청할 경우 B-미만은 모두 U로 성적을 부여할 계획입니다. 따라서 S/U로 신청시 유의하시기 바랍니다.

Class Meetings:

- Attendance: Minimum attendance of 3/4 is required. According to the university rule, more than 1/4 of unEXCUSED ABSENCEs lead to F without exception.
