3. Course Objectives

This class covers material processes with material properties taken into account. Material processes to be studied are casting, bulk-deformation, sheet-metal-forming, polymer-processing, machining andfinishing, and joining processes. Advanced machining processes such as MEMS and laser machining are also discussed. After completion of this class, students should know what material and process to use for the production of a certain product.
