3. Course Objectives

Nanotechnology will have wide-ranging applications both now and in the future. In particular, new physical phenomena that arise as the size of devices gradually decreases require an approach that considers quantum effects, unlike classical physics.

This course aims to provide background knowledge of nanotechnology and a basic understanding of quantum mechanics, and to understand the application of nanotechnology to nanodevices. This course also covers quantum transport phenomena from an engineering perspective.
