3. 강의목표

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to:
• Analyze the historical development of medical technologies and their transformative impact on healthcare practices over the past two centuries.
• Evaluate the complex relationship between medical technologies and societal understandings of disease, including how technologies both reflect and reshape our concepts of health.
• Assess the intended benefits and unintended consequences of technological integration in medicine, with particular attention to ethical considerations.
• Develop informed perspectives on emerging digital technologies and artificial intelligence in healthcare, applying interdisciplinary approaches to design better healthcare technologies.
• Design user (patient, doctor, or hospital)-centered services based on the understanding of the course.

Attendance 10%
• Attendance will be checked from week 3.
• One absence will not be counted for the final grade.
Discussion 20%
• Class participation is highly encouraged to engage with the reading materials and exchange ideas with peers.
Assignment 20%
• This exercise encourages you to observe people and express their concerns in a measurable way.
• You may write about yourself.
Final Project 50%
• Ideation, the idea-development process, background research, data collection, collaboration, and outcomes will be assessed.

9. 수업운영

• ‘Respect’ is a cornerstone of this class.
• Attendance is mandatory and will be taken from week 3. However, one absence will not be counted toward the final grade.
• The instructor will take attendance, so students do not need to swipe their cards in the system.
• Late assignments may be accepted only with the instructor’s permission under certain circumstances. Students should contact the instructor in advance if they need an extension.
• PLMS is the main communication medium for announcements, readings, lecture slides, assignments, and more. Students can find assignment details (due dates, submission instructions, etc.) on PLMS.
