In an era of globalization and digital transformation, the strategic use of information technology has fundamentally reshaped the role of information systems in business and management. Today, the ability to deploy information systems effectively is often a matter of survival and success for enterprises.
This course aims to help students understand how information systems can be leveraged to manage organizations successfully and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. It explores how the integration of business strategies, information technology, and people contributes to the overall success and innovation of modern enterprises.
Students will learn:
- How to align business strategy, organizational processes, and information systems effectively.
- How to analyze the strategic role of IT in creating value and improving decision-making.
- How to apply managerial and technological insights to solve real-world business problems.
Unlike many MIS courses that primarily emphasize technical aspects, this course focuses on the strategic and managerial perspectives of information systems—highlighting how technology can be aligned with business goals to create value, enhance performance, and drive long-term competitiveness.
