3. 강의목표
This student-centered course fosters active participation through daily small-group discussions focused on a diverse range of academic topics. Designed to improve students' speaking and critical thinking skills, the curriculum also includes two collaborative debate projects that encourage teamwork and deeper analytical engagement. A central goal of the course is to cultivate professional communication skills, empowering students with the competence and confidence needed for success in academic and professional environments. As an integrated skills course, it requires consistent, active participation throughout the semester.

Daily Homework 20%- Students are required to upload their work before class. All work must be submitted to turnitin.com before class or a mark of 0 will be given on that day.
Reflective Writing- 15 %- Students will be required to share their ideas and thoughts on daily topics.
Presentations – Students will be required to complete 2 Pecha Kucha format presentations. The Pecha Kucha presentation will be 5 minutes long.
Group Projects 20%. Students will participate in group projects during the course. There will be 2 public forum styles debates during the semester.
Daily Participation- 25% Students will be expected to participate actively in a group environment on a consistent basis.

Students are required to upload their work before class. All work must be submitted to PLMS 30 minutes before class or a mark of 0 will be given on that day.

In order to receive an S grade, you must have a point total of at least 90 (standard A-).
Attendance: Four unexcused absences will result in an Unsatisfactory grade.

9. 수업운영
Each class will have 4 standard roles, and each student will assume one role per class with roles changing every class. The roles are unique to the class to avoid any crossover between different conversation-based class. Reflective journals that will be written during the last 10-12 minutes of class.
(1 absence = 3% deduction / 4 absences = F or U)

Expose students to a linguistic variety of accents, vocabulary, and contexts.
