- This course aims to expand the understanding of research in life science and help freshmen to acquire basic research capabilities by participating in research at life science laboratories to conduct experiments and practical training.
- Students will participate in on-going research projects currently taking place in the labs to learn basic experimental techniques and experience the research process step-by-step, ranging from hypothesis formulation and experimental design to data interpretation.
- After the course registration, students' areas of interest are surveyed to match them with the available capacity of the laboratories, after which assignments are made.
- In the assigned laboratories, students participate in experimental activities under the guidance of professors and research mentors, and submit the results of their activities in the form of a final report.
- Through the course, students can gain a practical sense of how research in life science labs is conducted, develop basic experimental skills, and have valuable research experience that will help explore a diverse set of disciplines and develop their future scientific careers.
