Course Overview:
- Software Vulnerability Analysis and Exploitation (previously offered as "Special Topic: Binary Analysis and Exploitation") covers practical software security, including advanced techniques for binary analysis, exploit development, and mitigation strategies.
- Students will engage in hands-on Capture-The-Flag (CTF) style lab challenges to apply and reinforce the concepts learned throughout the course.
Course Goals:
- Comprehend low-level program execution and system internals
- Acquire practical experience in reverse engineering and debugging
- Analyze various types of software vulnerabilities and their security implications
- Understand and evaluate software security defenses
- Develop skills for identifying vulnerabilities and crafting exploits
