3. 강의목표
The goal of this course is to understand various zeta functions and L-series associated with number fields.
We will closely follow Chapter VII of Neukirch’s Algebraic Number Theory.
4. 강의선수/수강필수사항
Familiarity with linear algebra, abstract algebra, complex analysis, and basic algebraic number theory is recommended. Relevant topics in algebraic number theory include number fields, rings of integers, ideals and ideal class groups, units, discriminants, Galois groups, and local fields. Some background in algebraic geometry would also be helpful.

Core problems covering the lecture material will be released every one or two weeks. All examination questions will be selected from these published problems. The core problems are for self-study and do not need to be submitted. Assessment will focus on understanding key concepts and presenting clear and rigorous mathematical arguments.
Regular attendance is required and will be recorded, although attendance is not graded separately. In accordance with POSTECH regulations, students must attend at least three-quarters of the total class hours to be eligible for course credit. Excused absences will be handled in accordance with university regulations.
