1. 교과목 개요(Course Description)
본 과목은 외국인 학부생을 대상으로 한 한국어 및 한국 문화 입문 과목이며 다음의 교재를 사용한다.
① Practical Korean 1 (English Edition), ② Get It Korean Writing 1
수업은 한글 자음과 모음 학습을 시작으로, 자기소개, 인사, 숫자, 시간 표현 등 일상생활에서 자주 사용되는 기초 한국어 표현을 학습하는 것을 목표로 한다.
또한 문법, 듣기, 읽기, 말하기 활동을 유기적이고 균형 있게 구성하여 학습하며, 초급 학습자의 부담을 줄이기 위해 쓰기 활동은 짧은 메모 수준으로 제한한다. 발음 시범, 반복 연습, 짝 활동 등 학습자 참여 중심의 교수법을 활용하여 학습자들이 쉽고 재미있게 한국어를 익힐 수 있도록 돕는다.
아울러 매 주차마다 예절, 음식, 가족 문화 등 한국의 일상문화 요소를 함께 다루어 언어와 문화를 통합적으로 이해할 수 있도록 하며, 향후 한국 대학 생활과 한국 사회 적응에 도움이 되도록 구성한다.
This course is an introductory class on the Korean language and Korean culture designed for international undergraduate students. The main textbooks used in the course are:
① Practical Korean 1 (English Edition), ② Get It Korean Writing 1
Beginning with the study of Hangul consonants and vowels, students will learn basic Korean expressions frequently used in daily life, including self-introductions, greetings, numbers, and time expressions.
The course is organized to integrate grammar, listening, reading, and speaking activities in a balanced and connected manner. Writing activities are limited to short memo-level tasks in order to reduce the burden on beginner learners. Student-centered teaching methods such as pronunciation demonstrations, repetition drills, and pair activities will be applied to help beginners learn Korean in an easy and enjoyable way.
In addition, each week will introduce aspects of everyday Korean culture, such as etiquette, food, and family culture, so that students can develop an integrated understanding of both the Korean language and culture. The course is also designed to support students’ future adaptation to university life and society in Korea.

강의 안내사항 (Course Information)
1. 강의 계획
·학기 중 학생들의 학습 수준과 진행 상황에 따라 강의 계획은 사전 공지 후 일부 조정될 수 있습니다.

2.성적 평가 방식
·본 수업은 S/U 평가 방식으로 운영되며, S(Satisfactory) 성적은 총점 90점 이상일 경우 부여됩니다.

3. 과제 제출 및 표절 기준
·다른 학생의 글이나 인터넷 자료를 도용한 과제는 모두 0점 처리되며, 마감 시간을 지나 제출된 과제는 인정되지 않습니다.

4. 출석 기준
·총 4회 이상 결석 시 자동으로 U 성적이 부여됩니다.
·가족의 긴급 상황이나 병원 입원 등의 경우는 담당 교강사의 재량에 따라 공결 여부가 결정됩니다.

5. 지각 및 수업 태도
·15분 미만 지각은 최종 성적에서 1% 감점
·15분 이상 지각은 결석으로 간주되며, 정당한 사유가 없을 경우 3% 감점

1. Course Plan
· The course plan may be adjusted during the semester depending on students’ proficiency and class progress. Any changes will be announced in advance.

2.Grading Policy
· This course follows the S/U grading system. A grade of S (Satisfactory) is awarded only if the final score is 90 points or higher.

3. Assignment Submission & Plagiarism
· Any assignment that plagiarizes another student’s work or content from the internet will receive a score of 0.
· Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

4. Attendance Policy
· Students who are absent 4 times or more will automatically receive a U (Unsatisfactory) grade.
· Absences due to family emergencies or hospitalization may be excused at the instructor’s discretion.

5. Tardiness and Classroom Behavior
· Arriving less than 15 minutes late will result in a 1% deduction from the final grade.
· Arriving 15 minutes late or more is considered an absence and will result in a 3% deduction unless a valid reason is provided.
