3. Course Objectives
NOTICE: As Covid-19 related social distancing is likely during this winter, the course will be taught on-line using the Zoom platform. I believe all of us are now quite experienced using Zoom, so I don't expect this to cause us any difficulties. Students should be aware, however, that evaluation standards for an onlline course CANNOT be the same as for an in-person class. I hope students will actively communicate with me if they have any concerns about the status of evaluation or suggestions for improvements.
English Grammar is a level 2 course designed to improve and promote proper grammar usage. The course focuses on the form, meaning and use of grammar in both formal and informal contexts. The course integrates some writing and speaking to improve language proficiency. Students will participate in guided, collaborative learning exercises as well as independent in-class exercises. There will be routine quizzes, which are usually given after completing a chapter, to check your understanding of the target grammatical forms.
