Ultrasonics is designed to provide graduate or senior undergraduate students with fundamental physical principles and instrumentation in ultrasound imaging and therapeutics.

 Acoustic impedance, intensity
 Reflection, refraction, transmission and attenuation
 Absorption, scattering, speckles and nonlinear effects
 Piezoelectricity
 Transducers and arrays
 Beamforming
 2D imaging, M-mode, Doppler, color flow imaging and other basic imaging modes
 Contrast agents, harmonic imaging, elastography, acoustic radiation force imaging and other special imaging modes
 High frequency ultrasound imaging
 Multidimensional ultrasound imaging
 Biological effects and safety
 Ultrasound thermometry
 BBB opening and drug delivery
 Lithotripsy and histotripsy
 Neuromodulation

9. 수업운영

Homework and Quiz
Homework should be done individually. DO NOT COPY other’s homework. Copied homework will get zero points. Two homework assignments will be given. Delayed homework will not be accepted. Quizzes will be given occasionally.

Participation
An unexcused absence will deduct 0.5% point from participation. Student who cannot attend the class must contact the instructor by email or phone prior to the class and get a permission for an excused absence.
