3. Course Objectives

In order to design complicated and functional materials for electrochemical energy systems, it is important to understand materials’ structural effects on electrochemical behavior. In this course, we will focus on structural effects of nanometer scale materials. Students will study various strategies for nanomaterials’ synthesis, characterization techniques, and their electrochemical performance in electrochemical energy systems. In addition, students will study the configuration and operation principle of various energy storage/conversion systems.
