3. 강의목표

Development of conceptual and applied design skills through exercises involving the design process and through the completion of an IT engineering design project. More independent learning process is required and the students start a more difficult real-world problem-based design project that usually leads toward their CiTD IV design course. The intent is to instill in them the confidence to complete the design process on their own.

9. 수업운영

Weekly Progress Reports and Presentations: Each student must submit a progress report (PowerPoint presentation) by posting on the website no later than 12:00 PM on every Monday AND give a presentation to the class at every Monday meeting at C5, #103 at 2:00 PM. The weekly progress reports must include the following.

Design Notebook: Each student is required to maintain a design notebook. This notebook should be a record of all work done during the course of the design project. The design notebooks are very important for final evaluation.

Proposal: In the first two weeks, each student must meet and discuss with a design advisor, decide his/her own project topic and submit a proposal. In Monday class meeting of the third week, each student should give a presentation of a proposed research. Note that the proposal presentation should include whether the proposed project will be done in one semester or continued to the next semester for the Creative IT Design IV project. The PowerPoint slides must be posted on the website before the proposal presentation. A proposal (PowerPoint presentation) must include the following.

Progress Review: At the mid-term period (see Schedule for the date), each student should make an oral PowerPoint presentation of their progress to date. The PowerPoint slides must be posted on the website before the progress review meeting.

Final Poster Presentation and Demo: At the CiTD demo day (see Schedule for the date), each student will make a poster presentation demonstrating their design project. A prototype demonstration, if appropriate, is highly encouraged.

Final Report: A final written report must be handed in after the final presentation.
