3. 강의목표
In modern computing systems, it is important to design efficient memory and storage systems as they 1) can significantly bottleneck the performance and energy efficiency of important data-intensive applications, e.g., data analytics, machine learning, and bioinformatics, and 2) directly deal with large amounts of security-sensitive data that are related to our lives. This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of DRAM and NAND flash memory, which are the prevalent memory technologies to build memory and storage systems, respectively, from their cell organizations and operating principles to state-of-the-art optimizations. Students will review high-impact research papers and obtain hands-on experience on state-of-the-art simulators for memory and storage systems.
