The goal of this course is to study the theory of elliptic curves over various fields and its applications to number theory.

8. Course Plan

After quick review of the general theory of elliptic curves (less than 1 week), we will move on to the theory of elliptic curves over a local field, reduction, Neron models. Then we will cover the theory of elliptic curves over Q, the proof of Mordell's theorem using height, BSD conjecture, and modularity.
