3. Course Objectives

The class is to establish basic knowledge on essential topics of condensed mater physics. Students expect to understand how
to describe electrons/ions' motions in various environments such as under periodic Coulomb potentials, non-negligible intera
ctions, external fields, etc. The class aims to bridge the gap in understanding on-going field research and textbook knowled
ge.
